Well what can I say this pregnancy keeps hitting me with things out of the blue. On January 6th, 2o1o, my fiancee, daughter and I attended my mother in laws 60th birthday at a restaurant here in town. Little did we know what was next to come.
My daughter (4) turned down chocolate birthday cake. o.O that is right she did not once but twice. We knew Thursday evening she must have been feeling under the weather. Then Friday came :S. She woke up early in the morning getting sick for over an hour straight, complaining her tummy hurt. We did what we could to make her comfortable not knowing yet what she had. 1am Sunday morning comes along after Advil and Gravol to try to calm the stomach down and reduce what fever she had, but her temperature was still there.
My fiancee and I bundled her up (it was freezing out) and took her to the hospital which is a 10 mins walk up the street. Hell for me but this is my baby girl. I am not use to seeing her like this. Not eating, lethargic, sleepy you name it. By 4am we found out she had the Norwalk Virus. Great something I don't need but what can I do.
We ended up getting home after they gave her a double dose of liquid tylenol (which she claimed was very sour lol) and she went to bed. Her temperature was down. The next few days were made up of the same mini snacking on things to try to make the huger go away and lots of Powerade. I made one mistake, I drank from her bottle not thinking.
Soooooo, mommy ended up with the Norwalk Virus too and OMG I don't wish it on anyone. When she said her tummy hurt it wasn't from puking, it was a painful pain, upset stomach on top of it and your inside rumbling like no tomorrow. This literally knocked me on my ass. Already bed ridden I tried to sleep and stay hydrated and eat toast. I had to despite if it made me feel like crap, I have to make sure the baby is ok.
For those of you who don't know what the Norwalk Virus it is gastroenteritis otherwise known at the stomach flu but in no relation to the Influenza strain. There is no vaccine for this.
