The first 7 weeks of my pregnancy was really rough. Your 1st trimester is the most important for growth. I have strep throat and tonsillitis reoccurring for 7 weeks. This was really hard for me because I was not able to eat properly and had a hard time sleeping :(
After the 4th dose of antibiotics it cleared up but that was enough to get me in to see the Ear Nose and Throat Specialist. Thank goodness. I see Dr. P. Stone on January 21st in hopes to find out what they plan on doing about my throat and about my nasal issues.
For 3 weeks I was ok. I could eat, drink and sleep. Unless I got the pregnancy nasal congestion. :( Again another bummer. Turns out the Dr in the Emergency Department believes I have a deviated septum and that is what is causing my problems breathing :( again this totally sucks because I sleep and breath through my nose. I find I am not able to breath through my mouth :( I don't produce enough saliva and get dry way to quick.
So from the last 10 weeks I have been fighting with the nasal congestion, have had 3 sinus infections and a couple colds. Seems I can not get a break.
It gets better! Not really lol. At 19 weeks I showed signs of my pelvic and hips separating getting ready for the birth. This does not normally happen until you are approx. 30 weeks. So my walking has been limited, I can not sit for long periods of time and the lower back pain is really really bad.
Can we say B E D R E S T . Which totally sucks. I enjoy getting up and out and walking. My daughter's school is 5 minutes down the road which usually takes us 10 minutes walking. Now with my pelvic, back and hips bothering me it takes me 15 minutes to walk down and about 25 to walk back. My wonderful fiancee has now taken the task of getting up every morning to walk her to school, which she loves more than anything.
As of a couple days ago the first week of January the baby shifted and my sciatic nerve is being pressed upon and OMG it hurts. My right leg is gimp, I hobble and my lower back is worse.
I am hoping when I see the Dr on the 13th that he is going to tell me as of the last ultrasound I am father along than the said 27 weeks 2 days based on the first ultrasound.
I am bigger than what I should be for this time frame and the different things the baby is doing is making he wonder about the EDD. So here is hoping. I originally said March 6th. The ultrasound says April 6th. I was taking a medication called Levocarb for my RLS which when you research it says it has not been tested on humans but reproduction studies in rodents have shown that levodopa, when given in doses in excess of 200 mg per kg of body weight (mg/kg) per day, depresses fetal and postnatal growth and viability. Also, studies in rabbits have shown that levodopa alone or in combination with carbidopa causes visceral and skeletal malformations.
So I stopped taking this medication once I read this and hope that it didn't harm the baby.
I will update how my appointment goes on January 13th, 2o1o.
